Welcome to the ultimate GTech Air Ram MK2 review.
Here, we’re going to introduce you to one of the best-selling cordless vacuum cleaners on the market today and help you to decide whether this machine might be a good investment for your home.
Gtech Air Ram MK2 Review
When the GTech Air Ram first emerged on the market, it was a unique addition to the vacuum cleaning arsenal. At first glance, it’s hard to tell whether this machine is a flexible stick cleaner or an upright cylinder. Therein lies the beauty of the Mk2’s design. Unlike other hoovers, the powerful GTech Air Ram Mk2 cordless vacuum cleaner delivers the suction power of a conventional upright, with the flexibility of a high-powered stick cleaner.
So, is the GTech Air Ram any good? That’s what we’re going to find out. In this review, we’ll be looking at:
- Design and appearance
- Suction power and performance
- Battery life
- Other features
One of the most versatile vacuum cleaners on the market, the GTech AirRam MK2 aims to deliver functionality, convenience, and simplicity to today’s consumers. If you’re looking for a convenient addition to your home cleaning strategy, then the GTech could be just the solution for you.
Let’s get this scrutiny started.
Features & Benefits
1. Design and Appearance
One of the first things you’re bound to notice about the AirRam Mk2 is its unique appearance. Designed in shades of grey with a splash of luminous green, this hoover is unlike anything else you’ll see on the market. There’s a re-designed floor head, a collapsible handle for easy storage, and plenty of simple controls to help you jump into action as quickly as possible.
Weighing in at 3.2kg, the Air Ram is a little heavier than a standard cordless, but it’s still straightforward to steer around your home. The handle can rotate, and there’s a joint between the floor head and the rest of the machine that makes it easy to swivel your unit around as you move between pieces of furniture.
Dust Capacity and Easy Disposal
One of the best things about the Air Ram design is that it comes with an ultra-low profile handle, so you can easily reach underneath furniture, too. This is important because there isn’t an extension hose to let you get under or around furniture with ease. Additionally, unlike most vacuums, the Air Ram doesn’t come with a standard dust canister. Instead, you’ll compress dirt into a container inside the tool’s floor head. The estimated storage capacity is around 0.8 litre, which is significant for a cordless, but still not big enough to avoid emptying every few minutes.
The good news is that although you might have to empty your hoover frequently, the process is quick and simple – thanks to GTech’s easy-empty feature. All you need to do is slide the ejector arm forward to shove all the compressed dust and dirt that you’ve collected into your trash can. No dust clouds necessary.
What’s more, when you’re finished using the MK2, you can fold down the handle, remove the battery pack, and compress everything so that you can store the Air Ram almost anywhere. You’ll even be able to charge the battery when it’s been detached from the rest of the machine.
2. Performance and Suction Power
Often, when you invest in a cordless vacuum cleaner, you get the benefit of easy manoeuvrability, at the expense of powerful suction. However, that isn’t the case with the GTech MK2 Airram cordless upright vacuum cleaner. One of the great things about this machine is the sturdy brush bar that comes with it. While many other cordless vacuums would struggle to pick up pet hair and the dust between your floorboards, the Mk2 Airram has no problems.
The brush bar on the AirRam is so powerful that it can even move the vacuum forward without any pushing or shoving on your behalf. However, this does mean pulling the vacuum back requires a bit more strength. The Mk2 does struggle a little bit with high-pile carpets, but it still has excellent dust and dirt pickup power. The unique floor head is designed to drive down deep into the fibres of your rugs, and extract grit, dirt, pet hair, and anything else you don’t want in your home.
AirLOc and Edge-Cleaning Tech
The G-tech Mk2’s unique floor head also comes with AirLOC technology. This basically means that your hoover creates a seal when you pull the vacuum backward, allowing it to collect larger pieces of debris like spilt cereal or dog biscuits.
Furthermore, the floor head is designed with edge-cleaning technology, that is meant to sweep right to the very end of your skirting boards and walls. Although it’s quite useful in this regard, you still can’t get quite as close to the edge of your walls as you would if you had a wand or crevice cleaner included with the machine.
Another downside of the performance is that the brush bar can sometimes get tangled with longer hair. This is a bit of a pain in the neck for some homeowners, but it’s also a common problem with many hoovers.
3. Battery Life
One particularly important thing we were keen to try in our GTech Air Ram review was the battery life. After all, any cordless machine needs to be able to last long enough to help you clean your entire home in one go. Fortunately, unlike other cordless vacuums that make it challenging to clean various rooms at once, the GTech comes with an impressive 22v Lithium-ion battery.
The lithium battery offers several advantages to homeowners, including consistent power throughout the full runtime. Hence, you can rest assured that your vacuum won’t lose suction power as you run out of energy. Additionally, Lithium-ion batteries also charge at a high speed, so you don’t have to wait as long for your machine to be ready to use again.
Once fully charged, the GTech Air Ram MK2 provides 40 minutes of performance from a single charge – which is a lot more than you get with a standard cordless. Additionally, you can charge the battery separately, so you don’t have to keep your whole vacuum standing next to an outlet.
Another vital point to consider in this GTech Air Ram MK2 review was how capable the machine could be at filtering the dust particles that often escape into your indoor air. The fact that the Air Ram MK2 comes with a washable filter means that it’s easy to keep your atmosphere clear when you’re cleaning with this machine. Although G Tech claims that your filter should last for the life of the device, it’s worth cleaning it every so often to help you make the most of your suction power.
Likewise, keep in mind that the MK2 AirRam is a bagless model. A feature that might not be ideal for people with severe allergies. However, the good news is that cleaning out your hoover isn’t nearly as a huge issue as it would be with other bagless models. You can quickly get rid of the compressed dirt in your machine at the push of a button, rather than having to deal with substantial dust clouds as you shake your canister out.
5. Other Features
There are many other features besides the main ones listed above that make the GTech AirRam MK2 worthy of consideration. For instance, the machine comes with unique LED headlights that help you to pinpoint areas of dust and piles of pet hair that you might not have noticed on your own. You might even be able to see hairpins and earring studs in your path more easily with this unit, too.
There’s also the benefit of a foot-operated power switch on the Gtech AirRam, which makes it much easier to use without bending. Plus, you can get an additional battery for this machine if you want to keep one charging while the other one works.
This cordless stick vacuum cleaner is an excellent all-around choice for pet owners and homeowners who want flexibility and versatility, combined with excellent performance. You might not be able to reach a few challenging places – like the corners of your ceilings, but you can rest assured that your floors will be spotless with the GTech Air Ram MK2.

We hope our GTech Air Ram Mk2 review has given you an insight into the incredible features that make this model quite appealing, from its impeccable suction power to its impressive 40-minute runtime.
